I’m running for Congress because I am the best and most prepared candidate to protect our freedom, reduce the burden of government, and keep families strong. The deep love of my family inspired me to live a life with purpose. Through the Air Force, I have lived a life of service. It is who I am now. And as I seek to continue to serve as your new Representative in Congress, I humbly ask for your vote and support.

Integrity is paramount to me. I have served in some of the most stressful and difficult conditions imaginable, and my integrity has always been my compass. When I make a promise, I keep it. If a roadblock prevents me from accomplishing a goal, I will be the first to tell you why and what my plan is to overcome it.
I believe Americans are ready for a representative with real-world leadership and a record of accomplishment. This campaign is no different from any challenge I've faced before: once I set my mind to a goal, I will do everything in my power to achieve it.
I will not be a representative who hides. I will be visible, I will listen to the people I serve, and I will go to Washington to fight for what is right, not for what is easy.
My 26 years of Air Force service gave me vital experience working inside our federal government. I've met countless patriotic people dedicated to our country.
Yet, I've seen a truth we can no longer ignore: Our federal government has become so bloated and wasteful that it's failing to deliver for the American people.
We've reached a critical point. It's time to make our government live up to the promises of the Constitution. I'm committed to correcting the mistakes of the past and forging a new path that guarantees opportunity for all.
Securing Economic Opportunities
As we see a surge of investment in American companies, we must ensure these generational opportunities reach the families and businesses of Northwest Ohio. We need leadership in Washington that will fight to bring these jobs here and create policies that generate even more opportunities in our community.
Empowering Small Business
The backbone of our economy is small business—the single largest employer of Americans. The federal government's policies should empower these businesses, not hinder them. It is time to remove unnecessary regulatory barriers and lower taxes to allow our entrepreneurs to thrive.
Protecting Our Family Farms
The viability of family farms is essential to our way of life. I am 100% dedicated to listening to what the farmers of Northwest Ohio need from their representative. The current regulatory environment is often too burdensome for family farms, giving larger corporations an unfair advantage. I will champion policies that level the playing field and ensure our family farms can continue to feed our nation.
Supporting Families and Local Education
The federal government must support families by ensuring parents have the final say in their children's upbringing and education. Parents are a child's most important advocate. Education should be a local issue, giving parents the influence they need over school curriculum and activities.
Prioritize Fiscal Responsibility
We must end wasteful federal spending. I pledge to you that I will work every day to ensure our government prioritizes America's needs and puts us on a path to paying down our national debt.

Who Is Wayne Kinsel?

Military Veteran

Wayne Kinsel's campaign for U.S. Congress, Ohio District-09, is rooted in a lifetime of service and a deep love for his country and home state. A decorated military veteran, seasoned professional executive, and community advocate, Wayne offers strategic leadership and a proven ability to get results.

His journey began as a United States Air Force enlisted member and then as an officer candidate at the Air Force Academy, leading to a distinguished career as a Civil Engineering Officer. He served for over 26 years in leadership and command roles before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2021. He continues to serve the Sylvania community as the Sylvania Rotary Club President, an active member of Fitness, Fellowship, Faith (F3) Toledo, and a volunteer at Sylvania Saint Joseph Parish and the Catholic War Vets. He also donates his time and resources to the greater Toledo area.

Wayne grew up in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a once-thriving industrial hub that has faced economic hardship. Witnessing his hometown's population shrinking by more than half, Wayne’s experience has shaped his mission to fight for a brighter future for the families of Ohio's 9th District.

Wayne and Amy opened Voodoo Brewing Company Toledo to provide customers with an unforgettable experience that combines the best beer, hand-crafted cocktails, eclectic pub food, live music and a unique atmosphere that fosters a sense of community.

Voodoo’s goal is to become the top choice for locals and visitors alike, providing a space where friends and family can come together to enjoy each other’s company and our unique offerings.

A Family Man and Community Pillar

Wayne Kinsel is a devoted family man and active community member in Sylvania, Ohio, where he and his wife, Amy Truckor Kinsel—a clinical pharmacist, Metamora native, and daughter of a fourth-generation farming family—are raising their 13-year-old daughter, Lauren.

In December 2022, the Kinsel’s opened their home to a Ukrainian family through the "Toledo Helps Ukraine" non-profit organization. This act of kindness underscores their commitment to helping those in need.
